Many of us have experienced the love, warmth and comfort that a quilt can bring!

Acacia Quilt Guild has a mission of promoting the art and knowledge of quilting while serving the community via philanthropic endeavors.  We
truly appreciate the generosity of our membership in giving so much time, effort and money towards Philanthropy.

Acacia through its philanthropy shares that love, warmth and comfort with the local community.  Each year, we donate over 400 handmade items
(including quilts, pillow cases, book bags, Christmas stockings) to local charities such as Thomas House and the Buena Park Rotary Club.

We also take pride in providing quilts to the families of veterans, active military personnel and other respected individuals residing in Buena
Park when requested by the City for its commemorative events.

We also design, create and donate themed quilts to other community organizations such as the Buena Park Library and Buena Park Youth Theatre
to use as fundraisers which in turn raise hundreds and hundreds of dollars for these groups.

Other local charities that we support include The Boys & Girls Club of Buena Park, Senior Care Centers, Relay for Life (American Cancer
Society) team and families of Marines at Camp Pendleton with various donations (sewn and non-sewn).

Acacia is fortunate to have a friendship group named Lisa's Ladies (Lisa Sullivan, former Philanthropy Chair) which meets monthly to prepare
kits and sew items for our community.  All are welcome to join this friendly group of volunteers who meet on the 4th Tuesday evening of each
month.  On rare occasions, this date may change so please check our
Calendar page to double check.

The Buena Park Police Department requested four additional quilts to have on hand for children taken into custody due to a difficult situation.
We donated two quilts to them last year, just as a trial run, and they have found a use for them.  (Child Services are usually called on to take
care of children in a bad situation, but occasionally this job falls to the local police.) On March 7th Anita Catano and Barbra Riley delivered
four additional quilts to Jessica Lopez, our contact with the Buena Park Police Department. See photo of three of the quilts with Anita hiding
behind the middle quilt.
